Young Living Essential Oils

Essential oils have empowered me as the first-line health care provider for my kids like nothing else I've come across.  They are so versatile, accessible, and relatively safe that I strongly encourage every parent (and non-parent) to learn more about them and give them a try.

If you're thinking about starting to use oils, I highly recommend getting a diffuser. Young Living has an awesome one that diffuses the oils into the air throughout a 30 foot radius of where ever you put it.  There are cheaper options on Amazon, but they can't cover as large an area so you'd have to have one in each room (which isn't very practical, and would end up costing more anyway).  You can also adjust the output as well as set the light to be on or off.  The cheaper ones on Amazon do work ok for diffusing bedside though, so I actually have a second one so that if two of us are sick at the same time I can diffuse in two rooms at the same time.

Normally the Young Living diffuser alone is $98.68 retail (or $75 wholesale if you order through a Young Living member such as myself). But with the Premium Starter Kit you get the diffuser, 11 different 5ml bottles of common oils people use, some sample products for you to try or share with others, plus a Young Living membership that gives you access to wholesale pricing (24% off) on any other Young Living products for a whole year with no minimum orders.  Retail for all of this would be $293.88 and even wholesale would still be $237.  Young Living currently has it priced at $150. That was a deal I couldn't pass up, even as thrifty as I am!  There is also an option to get just the diffuser and the wholesale membership for $75, but if you're wanting to start using oils and you don't have any/many then it makes a lot more sense to get the kit that includes the oils at a reduced price.  Here's a link to a website that shows the kit options.  Just scroll halfway down to the first row of pictures and you'll see them all there.

The everyday oils that come with the Premium Starter Kit include:
-Frankincense (great for depression, headaches, wrinkles, and preventing scars)
-Lavender (good for skin rashes and cuts/burns)
-Lemon (used to boost the immune system, increase energy, and help with reflux)
-Peppermint (awesome for headaches, sinus pain, and joint/muscle pain)
-PanAway (relieves various types of pain in the body depending upon where you apply it, and also prevents bruising)
-Citrus Fresh (great for detoxing, supports immune system, uplifting/energizing)
-Purification (works well to clean allergens out of the air when diffused, and when applied topically it it great for repelling bugs/ticks and treating bug bites)
-Thieves (helps treat sickness and prevent it from spreading when diffused and applied topically)
-Melaleuca Alternifolia (supports skin health, respiratory health, and oral health and helps with cuts/rashes
-Joy (works really well for winter blues/depression, or if you're just having a bad day)
-Stress Away (for when you are stressed out)

Filling out that first page does not obligate you to buy anything. It's basically just registering you on the YL site so that you can see all their products with wholesale prices listed. You won't be buying anything until you enter your credit card info on the check-out screen after you've filled your shopping cart. ***Be sure to select WHOLESALE MEMBER instead of retail customer because that is what will give you the wholesale pricing. And in step 3 where it asks you to pick an essential rewards kit, just scroll down and select "No, thank you. I plan on enrolling in the Essential Rewards Program later."

I should also let you know that there is always an additional promotion of getting free oils when you purchase 190 PV worth of product on one order, so if there are any other oils you'd like to have on hand right away (such as RC for coughs, Breathe Again for congestion, or Di-Gize for vomiting/diarrhea), it pays to order then along with your start kit so that you can get the free oils as well. I took advantage of that promo when I signed up for my kit.

Once you get some oils, there is a great oil testimonial site at www.oil-testimonials.com where people post what oils have helped them with various symptoms/conditions.  You have to sign up for an account to use it but it's free.  There is also a great reference book that you can get.  The full sized version has one section with all the oils what they do/how to use them, and another section where you look up a symptom or condition and it says which oils to try and how to apply them.  There is also a smaller version that I travel with that just has the symptom part.  This is the cheapest place I've found to get them: http://www.abundanthealth4u.com/Reference_Guide_Bundle_Softcover_p/1000.htm.  This link will bring you to a bundled pack with both of them, but they also sell them individually.

If you have a smart phone, you can also download a free app that helps you know which oils to use for what.  It's called the Healthier Thymes Young Living Essential Oils app.  Just do a search on your device to find it.  Or there is also an app for the reference book mentioned above.
